About Me

I’d like to start by telling you a little bit about myself. I moved to Sun City in 2013, after a year and a half of life altering changes; I retired from a job I loved, lost my husband of 39 years to cancer, sold our home, and relocated nearly 200 miles north to be closer to family - especially three of my four grandchildren.  Nearly twelve years later, I still love living here and believe that each of us has a responsibility to ensure Sun City continues to prosper.

With nearly 40 years in school transportation - the majority as District Training Coordinator for one of the largest school districts in the state, I’ve had years of experience interacting with law enforcement and other external agencies, administrators, and employees. I’ve participated in interview panels for key management positions such as Superintendent and IT Director, served on strategic planning and Advisory Boards, and contributed to the successful passage of a bond measure while serving on our Districts Bond Steering Committee.

I currently serve on the Neighborhood Watch Board of Directors and maintain our website SCLHWatch.org. I feel so blessed to work with such a caring group of people.  Their dedication and commitment to the residents Sun City Lincoln Hills is a testament to the power of volunteerism.

My experience with a large organization taught me the importance of using our capital wisely and how to do more with less and still provide the services expected of us. I believe the best path forward for Sun City Lincoln Hills is to continue working together towards common goals; maintain reasonable HOA dues, safeguard our financial stability and efficiency, (lets fix what’s broken first) and ensure our amenities are well maintained remain the shining star of Sun City.

The Board of Directors number one priority must be hiring an experienced Executive Director. A person willing to make the hard decisions, review each department’s procedural policies for redundancies or deficiencies, reevaluate each job description and salary schedule, and develop cost cutting strategies for the board to review.

I think the benchmark of a successful Board begins with respect and responsibility.  With this election, we have a unique opportunity to reengage the community and rebuild trust.  One such way could be restructuring our workshops. I propose we restructure workshops by arranging board members and key leadership in such a way that they’d sit with and have an opportunity to listen to what the community has to say. This approach would ensure each resident felt valued and engaged.

If elected, I will continue to seek collaborative ways to reach consensus, honor our fiduciary duties, and ensure decisions are made in the best interests of our community.

I believe I possess the skills – and the heart – needed to serve on our board of directors and respectfully seek your support and vote(s).

Vision for the Future

PROVIDE a FRESH VOICE – Our community will benefit from a fresh voice. With nearly 40 years of experience in school transportation and recent service on the NW Board of Directors, I have learned the importance of approaching issues without taking them personally, and that effective solutions are reached by coming to the table with an open mind and a willingness to actively listen to opposing views.

PROMOTE TEAMWORK AND COLLABORATION – By working together, we can improve the effectiveness of our committees. This includes re-establishing our accessibility committee, rectifying non-functional policies, and contributing to the protection of our HOA while supporting our residents.

ENHANCE SAFETY & SECURITY

As a new Board Member, I will enhance collaboration between our Neighborhood Watch and the Association. The Fire Safety Presentation held February 10th demonstrated this commitment. https://youtu.be/RpiNHepaIh0 .  For safety and security resources, please visit SCLHWatch.org

BECOME FIREWISE – As a community, it is important to develop strategies to reduce wildfire risks to homes and association property. This provides an opportunity for the Board of Directors (BOD) to engage with residents and conduct workshops to examine how the BOD, in collaboration with fire safety experts and committees such as the Architectural Review Committee (ARC), can recommend revisions to design guidelines that promote fire safety.

ENCOURAGE TRANSPARENCY – I believe in leading by example with transparent and honest communication. By explaining decision-making processes, welcoming input, and documenting key decisions, we build trust. Sharing both positive and negative feedback ensures everyone feels heard.

ADVOCATE FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY – continue working together towards common goals; maintain reasonable HOA dues, safeguard our financial stability & efficiency, (lets fix what’s broken first), ensure our amenities are well maintained and remains the shining star of Sun City.

I will fulfill my fiduciary responsibilities with commitment and care, while always prioritizing the best interests of our community and respectfully ask for your vote(s).
